Wonchi
, a crater lake with many islands at an altitude of 2780 meters.
Wonchi may have been active as recently as 550 a.d. The calera is
2952 feet deep (900 meters), and the lake itself is 1312 feet (400
meters) deep.
Itinerary
Drive
to Ambo, which is at a distance of 125 km West of Addis Ababa.
Pass by
Lake
Gefersa
and arrive at
Addis
Alem
Church
built during the reign of Menelik II. Arrive at Ambo for Lunch.
After lunch, visit
Lake
Wonchi
and drive back to
Addis Ababa
